소망적 사고(Wishful thinking)는 사실들, 보고서, 사건, 인식(perception) 등등을 핵석하는데 있어서 실제 증거들에 따라서 하는 것이 아니라 바라는 소망대로 해석하는 것이다. 만약 이것이 진리에 대한 관심도 없이 의도적으로 일어난 것이라면 이러한 것들은 잘못된 해석, 왜곡, 속임, 부정직, 또는 전도(perversion)된 진리라고 불린다.
